What is Zumba? A History of Zumba Dance

In earlier of 90's, Zumba started its history from Colombia. A choreographer named Alberto "Beto" Perez created Zumba from embarrassing experience, when he forgot to bring his cassette for his gymnastic class. His professionalism and responsibility forced him to think a quick way out from this problem. Finally he found a brilliant idea, he used upbeat Latin dance music from his car and then a fitness dance called Zumba was born.


Zumba is a combination of fitness and dance with portion 30:70 and use music for workout. Zumba dance movement consist of some variation of Latin dance which combine other dance elements such as; meringue, pop, reggaeton, cumbia, mambo, salsa, flamenco, saco, rumba and calypso dances. The exercises of each category are differentiated to minimize the risk during zumba workout and not suitable with your condition.

Zumba dance workout could be done in a fast and a slow tempo, so Zumba lovers could be avoided from a boring workout.
